I guess this is not a Manor bug but this question is something that is bugging me and nobody seems to know the answer. Why is it that the sound Manor makes when someone enters a room has become intermittent. I always relied on that sound to play to tell me when someone entered the room when I was away from my puter. It now seems to choose when to make a noise and is no longer reliable, is this a cache issue? it does not seem right that we should have to keep emptying the cache just to get the Manor noise. I know other people have the same problem.

It's set not to interupt other sounds. If you have a wav playing for example the enter sound won't play.

Could this be the case?

No Carl, I am not playing any sound at all, no wav or anything else. I am away from my puter doing other stuff and leave volume up in case of visitors.

I notice that on my Mac I can not save a log if I have my log window selected as the active window, I have to click on the main room window for the save log selection in the file menu to active. Then I can save the log. I have to wonder if some thing like this could be going on with the enter sound for you seeing how it is intermitting.

Studio, I was a little bewildered because by default the Manor Window is active not the Log Window. I have just kept an eye open to ensure the Manor Window is active when somebody entered our Gate and there was no Manor enter sound.

grumble grumble, and of course it works fine for me. Keep trying to identify what conditions it does this on, I'll continue trying to dupe it.

It seems to work fine for the first user that enters the room, it is the subsequent entries that don't seem to trigger the sound. Other than that, it is hard to pin down to a particular circumstance.

I my opinion the problem occurs when the owner puts his/her sound in the gate/landing/entery room some how it over rides the default sound.

Yes, that could happen as sounds played by scripts or spots will interrupt any other playing sound, including the entry sound.

We do not have automatic wav's playing in our Gate at WM or in any other rooms. We only have an automatic wav that plays in the Disclaimer and the Manor sound always works in the Disclaimer.
