Hm... now, I am watching CNN, BBC, ABC, NBC, DR, SVT on the internet... along with newspapers like: IHT, The Guardian, The Independent, Le Monde, the danish ones... and I have them all bookmarked in my news favourites folder for quick updates, as I presume most of you do, choosing your preferences.
So, we have all heard about Al Jazeera, a TV station located in Doha, Qatar. I didn't think much about it, but heard about it and that it actually is very influential world wide (actually having newer stuff than even CNN or BBC who feeds off their reports sometimes)
So, today I was skimming the media sites for news on Libya... (since I find the conflict interesting both militarily and politically)... and there was not much going on at CNN, BBC or others... so I checked Aljazeera English and there were much more news there about latest developments.
Now... from my look at it, it's actually very good. It's very like BBC (conceptually and lots of BBC kind of reporters, no surpirse since I read that BBC helped them majorly)... it seems to me very objective, professional, comprehensive and ranging world wide. Of course it has most focus on Arab world and what happens there.
They have free 24/7 live video feed as well as in depth reports, it is state of the art news both technically and journalistically, and I find it a great supplement to other news sites.
So... it went in my bookmarks and it stays there. Well done !
