Tis coming to be that time when those of us in the U.S. are just starting being inundated with the presidential hopefuls trying to convince us all they are the right one for the job.
Know what? I for one really, REALLY want an option for "None of the above" on the ballot. That way instead of having a choice of evils where the lessor evil that does get elected starts spouting off about "The people have given us a mandate" (No stupid, you just didn't look like as much of a screw up as the other guy, not that you really had clue which way is up) we could have a real choice of telling the lot of them none of them are acceptable go try again. |

In Denmark we have two options other than voting for one of our candidates for messing up stuff... voting blank or stay on couch, I bet it is same there. but well indirectly those votes sorta goes to the leading party.
Anyway... IF the rare subspecies of a human with intelligence, leadership ability, statesmanship, vision, moral integrity, social, cultural and economic insight and altruistic motives exists that is even close to those stratifications of society that can get into it, I think they would deny due to the ridiculous maelstrom of crap you will be exposed to, like powerstruggles, corruption, nepotism, economic pression, dirty compromises, blackmail, slander, knives in the back, sensation hungry mass media .. you name it.
In short: in our societies, those best suited for the job shuns it, that is the sad fact.
What worries me most locally is seeing Danish politics relying more and more on who has the bigger campaign budget and the best spin doctors.
Btw... does anyone know of a deserted island for sale? ... _________________ Cheiron

Well Scots, money drives everything anymore...... favors to big donaters reap big bucks.....(checks coin purse for a quarter)....... people havent figured out yet that the "most" qualified persons to run this country cannot even get into the race because of the lack of financial backing....... maybe it's time we limit the amount of funds that can solicited....or even better use their own damn money..... see how many run then...... Che u can't sit on couch that just allows one of the bad ones get elected......how about trying to "write in" someone.. grass roots campaign for someone really qualified without the big bucks (walking is cheap, talking to people is free )......... lol Jade, love the island idea for Supreme Lime..
another useless ramble from me
