For those using Windows, have just discovered that Norton Personal Firewall intercepts Manor room descriptions and will replace spot scripts with javascript, especially if the room is PHP generated.

Have submitted a request to Norton tech support about this, but until a solution can be found, if you are encountering strange spot script errors I would recommend turning off the Norton Firewall and use XP's own firewall.
